White villages and small towns are characteristic of Spain but it is mainly in Andalusia that they still look like they used to centuries ago.

Access by car is difficult or forbidden in many streets due to their small width or because of the old stairs and cobblestone pavements...

In order to protect them against the burning sun rays of summer, all houses are painted white with chalk every springtime. The glowing and monotonous white paint all over the village is broken by the varying shapes of the shades, the colourful plants on the balconies and the contrast between the green palm trees with the red geraniums and bouganvillae.
